Getting started
You can have a live whitelabel platform on your own domain in under an hour. Here's the order it ships in.
1. Create your account
Sign up at the homepage. We ask for an email, a password, and (optionally) a first name. No card, no trial — your account is free until you decide to publish.
2. Set your brand
Go to Settings → Branding and fill in:
- Brand name — what shows in the sidebar wordmark and the browser tab.
- Logo — upload a PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG (max 2MB). Replaces the wordmark when set.
- Accent color — currently used as a subtle accent on the welcome pill and the domain-nudge banner. Deeper theme controls land in a future release.
Saving repaints the dashboard live — no reload needed. See Branding for the full walkthrough.
3. Add your custom domain
In Settings → Domain, click + Add custom domain and follow the wizard:
- Enter the subdomain you want (e.g.
app.yourbrand.com). - Add the DNS record at your registrar (Type A, value shown on screen, TTL 300).
- Click Verify now. We'll resolve your domain and check it points at our IP.
Most providers update within 5 minutes. If yours is slow, we automatically re-check every 5 minutes — you can come back later, no need to babysit. Full DNS troubleshooting lives in Custom domains.
4. Open your dashboard on your domain
Once verified, visit https://your.domain — you'll land on your branded sign-in page. Sign in with your LNKS credentials and you're inside your dashboard, with your brand applied.
5. Create your first short link
Go to Links, pick a domain (your custom one if it's verified, otherwise lnks.work), choose a slug, paste a destination, and create. See Short links for slug rules and how click tracking works.
What's next
- Custom domains — DNS troubleshooting, certificates, sharing domains with your users.
- Short links — creating, sharing, and tracking link clicks.
- QR codes — design templates you apply to any link.
- Branding — how the wordmark, logo, accent, and favicon all work together.
